San Francisco based realtor Ruth Krishnan was looking for a complete overhaul of her WordPress website. Ruth Krishnan and her team were actively updating the website with real estate news, new developments in SF and a lot of content that is relevant to home buyers and sellers. In conversation with the Ruth and her husband, they were looking for a clean website that has the content organized in a flow and a scrolling page design that appeals to a tech audience. The first task on hand was to improve to the user experience of the website. Read more about our UX work here.
Meraki Design worked on building a scrolling home page wireframe that tells a story about the client. It begins with a message from the realtor and then a blurb about Ruth as a realtor. Further down in the design, the viewer is drawn to search for homes and explore the city of San Francisco. Meraki Design worked with the client to build 3 layouts in different color schemes. From a visual design perspective, the client was looking for a lot of white with a hint of color. We settled on a predominantly white and grey scheme with a tinge of teal in the separators.
In this project, Meraki Design also provided a consult on WordPress themes that work best for the client. Another area of consult was with the integration of WolfNet IDX, a third party service provider for MLS listings. Using the WordPress plugin, the website displays curated listings based on the style of the home, open houses and homes available in a particular neighborhood. The development was executed and maintained by Active Color.
